Letter to Self 1

culturemotherhoodwriting

Dear Tam,

Go to this blog as often as you can (the 4th agreement) and write what comes to mind without fear of imperfections. As the sketchers sometimes need to make many draft strokes, the writer can write many draft sentences. Then comes the process of pruning, refining, summarizing and reshaping.

Write, because the best time is now. I cannot stress enough what a regret it is when I know some very good idea came across and I did not note it down, hence it cannot be recalled. It's frustrating, not knowing what could have been.

Go to this blog and revisit your different phases of life to keep growing. You are a work in progress and that's a good thing. Here's a quote from James Clear:

"You can't change your past, but you can reframe it.

Find the lesson in it. Find the opportunity in it. Pull the teachable moment out of it and share with others.

You can't choose your history, but you can choose the story you tell about it."

See, what I perceive this blog is still not refined. It's like a fireplace where I practice kindling fire in my heart, it's a friend that I wish I had, it's a secret garden where my chaotic mind slows down and I just breathe and be.

So yeah, go to this blog often, build it up, shape it slowly and patiently, enjoy your own quirks and learn to like yourself. It's tough but it can be done.

Holding my hope up,

TamInProgress
